Carrollian...Shimer is the most nomadic school it's ever been my pleasure to know, but I can surely say a lot of what's in the past is best left behind!

IIRC, a lot of those books were so esoteric they weren't even relevant during the Cold War era. I always ended up having to go to the U. of Chicago library to do research.
--- Angie the AncientAngiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16189044034252045912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18808529.post-1169053080300360952007-01-17T10:58:00.000-06:002007-01-17T10:58:00.000-06:00Ah, drat, didn't see this post before I posted.Now...Ah, drat, didn't see this post before I posted.

Now, keep in mind that I have minimal contact with Shimer--- it still kind of smarts in a lot of ways, plus they are really, really busy--- but I understand that much of the library is obsolete and has been buried since the Mount Carroll move anyhow.

I guess Shimer is trying to move on with less baggage. Best of luck to them--- but I hope we "old schools" --- wait, that would be Mt. Carroll people--- we "middle-age schools" get a fair piece of the action!

I wonder if they take checks or credit cards? Sigh.L.
